A little about me

I am an Associate Professor at the Department of Computer Science and Informatics at the School of Engineering of Jönköping University (JU) in Sweden and Recurring Visiting Professor at the Department of Computer Engineering of Kasetsart University (KU) in Thailand. Furthermore, I lead the HCI Lab at JU.

My current research interest spans the personalization of experiences through a thorough understanding of behavior, preferences, and needs of users. By combining a theory-driven approach (e.g., psychological models and theories) with conventional data-driven methods, I strive to make patterns in big data more interpretable and explainable for humans. This allows for a deeper understanding of users in a scalable way.

My current research includes:

  1. (theory-driven) personalization and user modeling based on investigating (online) behavior, preferences, and needs
  2. implicit user model acquisition (e.g., social media trails, IoT)
  3. user-centered system evaluations
  4. developing (personalized) persuasive technologies for behavioral change

Currently I am involved in the following courses at JU:

  1. User Research
  2. User Experience Design
  3. Information Architecture
  4. Next Generation Web
  5. Web Personalization
